Jaybro is seeking a proactive, detail oriented and solutions driven Purchasing Officer to join their team.
The role is full-time based in Arndell Park, NSW.
The Purchasing Officer is responsible for coordinating and executing all aspects of the procurement process, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services for the organisation.
The role is vital in maintaining positive vendor relationships, optimising inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with relevant departments to identify purchasing needs and develop procurement plans.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and maintain a qualified supplier base.
- Analyse and assess supplier proposals, quotations, and bids to determine the best value for the organisation.
- Generate purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in specifications, quantities, pricing, and delivery terms.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely order processing, shipment, and delivery of goods and services.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring effective communication and prompt resolution of any issues or disputes.
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to optimize stock levels and minimize carrying costs.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to identify obsolete or excess inventory and implement appropriate disposition strategies.
- Implement inventory control measures, such as regular stock counts and analysis of consumption patterns.
- Managing & maintaining data in ERP – Product/Supplier data, reorder settings, etc.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders (international shipping) for product deliveries
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain (construction industry is a plus!)
- Knowledge or experience with SAP S4/HANA
- Medium to Advanced Excel
- Experience with supplier management
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication with good negotiating skills
- A flexible & adaptable attitude
